Vets Support Equine Race Horse Enterprise

Acorus successfully obtained planning permission for a temporary dwelling and stable development at an equine enterprise in North Yorkshire which breeds, rears and schools thoroughbred foals and horses for sale.  With plans to train race horses on behalf of nearby trainers, young horses needed to be stabled on-site.

Local vets wholeheartedly supported the owners' request for an occupational dwelling on-site arguing that a staff member should be constantly available to deal with the horses' health and welfare. 

Acorus were therefore able to prove a 'functional need' for an on-site manager at all times and Ryedale District Council Planning Committee gave their approval.
