Free Range
Unit in Six Weeks
Free range units require extensive areas of land for grazing
and therefore are often on openly visible sites.
Units don’t come much larger than a single 32,000
bird shed in a 32 hectare (79 acre) field which was proposed
by one Norfolk farmer.
An Acorus poultry planning specialist gave initial advice
on positioning the building and achieving the best access.
The application consisted of a full report, design and
access statement, landscaping scheme and the necessary application
forms prepared in conjunction with a leading egg packer.
The proposal was well received by the Local Authority and
due to its good location received no adverse comment locally.
Planning permission was achieved in approximately six weeks
from the date of application.
