New Start for
Equestrian Business
When Mr Robinson approached Acorus he had a block of land,
a small stable block and aspirations to set up an Arab stud
and livery enterprise. However, he had no planning permissions
including the mobile home he was using to run the business.
Acorus successfully gained a Certificate of Lawful Existing
Use or Development (CLEUD) for the stable block as it had
been erected for a least four years. Planning permission
for Change of Use of an existing agricultural building into
stables was also secured.
The Local Authority served an enforcement notice against the
mobile home but with the assistance of an Acorus Business
Planning Consultant who carried out a business plan, a three
year permission was secured at appeal after it was successfully
argued that the functional and financial tests could be satisfied.
