Mick is Technical Director and Rural Planning Consultant
for Acorus and responsible for the North East region.
Mick is a Rural Practice Chartered
Surveyor and a senior project manager specialising in planning
and diversification consultancy, including work relating
to agricultural buildings and dwellings, residential
and commercial barn conversions, equestrian developments,
farmshops, chalet developments, golf courses, theme
parks, caravan parks and other diversification schemes
(24 years experience). Leading a cross section of
project teams and external consultants, Mick has successfully
achieved planning permission and development of land
and buildings for agricultural, rural and leisure
purposes.
He has extensive expert witness experience.

Iain is Business Manager for the Leeds Team and is
a Chartered Surveyor. He has extensive knowledge of
rural asset and portfolio management across the UK.
Iain comes from a solid background in rural and
urban estate management. He has worked in a variety
of public and private sector organisations, including
the Forestry Commission and most recently for Defence
Estates where he provided estate management advice
on the rural and built Military Estate across the
North of England.
Iain’s varied work experience over the years
has ranged from schooling polo ponies to tournament
level in the UK and Florida to negotiating compensation
for the clearance of 1st World War, unexploded Ordnance.
Currently, he is also a business mentor for the Yorkshire
Agricultural Society. |

Anthony takes responsibility for projects in the North
West and has numerous years of experience in planning
consultancy for agricultural development and farm
diversification schemes. He has extensive knowledge
of the complex process involved from initial planning
investigations, building and design requirements through
to the submission of detailed planning applications.
Anthony also undertakes farm and land valuations,
property agency, estate management and deals with
matters involving compulsory purchase and compensation.
Anthony has a degree in land management (Harper Adams),
is a professional member of the RICS and a fellow
of the Central Association of Agricultural Valuers.

Sam is a Graduate Rural Practice Surveyor supporting
the Leeds team. He is a Corporate Member of the Chartered
Institute of Housing after training with a rural local
authority. He is now working towards his APC after
completing an MSc Rural Environment and Land Management
Degree at Harper Adams.
Sam already has experience of working in estate management
and land agency including harvest work in a 7000 tonne
grain store facility and experience gained as Trainee
Land Agent for Lamport Hall Preservation Trust Ltd.
The latter included work to help organise the annual
Lamport Steam and Country Festival which attracts
around 9,000 people over the two day event and assisting
with the management of residential property. |

Linda is administrator for the Leeds team based at
the Sherburn in Elmet office and has numerous years
of secretarial and office management experience. Previously
a legal secretary, Linda has worked as a school secretary
and finance officer for North Yorkshire County Council.
Linda is particularly interested in the equestrian
side of the business as she has owned her own horse
for past nine years.
