Roads
New roads and widening of existing roads affect agricultural
land in terms of land taken but often, farm and estate management,
access arrangements, field drainage and water attenuation
facilities are key issues.
Acorus consultants are experienced in talking to farmers
and landowners and identifying the related effects of any
scheme. This could include initial advice, assessment of
mitigation within an Environmental Impact Assessment and
appearance at Public Inquiry. Roads we have worked on in
this way include the A1073 Spalding to Peterborough, A5117
Deeside Junctions improvement in Cheshire and A30 Bodmin/St
Austell improvement.
On a national basis we have worked on a number of Highway
Agency schemes through Consulting Engineers and also provided
agricultural and estate management advice to County Council
Highways Department.
