Acorus Achieves Planning Consent For Major Conversion Project In Norfolk
6th February, 2018 by Acorus
The Acorus planning and design team have been working on behalf of GW Daniels and Son for several years on this project. Negotiations with the Local Planning Authority (LPA) and Historic England (HE) have been protracted as the site includes a large Grade I building. The Conservation Department of the LPA have been included within all discussions.
The initial reaction was that no redevelopment would be allowed but after many hours of negotiations and preparation of alternative schemes, submission artistic impressions and careful consideration of the historic nature of the site the Local Authority and Historic England were convinced that the scheme prepared by Acorus was well prepared and sympathetic to the Grade I building.
The husband and wife duo are extremely pleased with the outcome of this application and are now looking forward to converting the buildings. The scheme includes six converted dwellings close to the Grade I listed threshing barn, which is one of the largest threshing barns in England.
