Lockdown has not prevented planning moving forward

Acorus logo

Lockdown has not prevented planning moving forward in many areas in the south west.   Acorus’ south west office were contacted during the lockdown period by a client looking to secure planning permission for a small private stable block on land to the rear of her property.

Whilst Acorus were unable to undertake a site visit at the time, a planning application was submitted to the local Council for consideration.  Elevation and floorplan drawings were provided by the manufacturer of the stables, however the planning application was supported by a planning statement and site plan drawing produced by Acorus.  The application was monitored by Acorus and queries answered were they arose.  Due to due to the Council’s standard processes being interrupted with the ongoing COVID 19 situation, there was a minor delay in the determination of the application however planning permission was secured within 10 weeks from validation of the application.

The client will have to note conditions attached to the permission and confirm certain details regarding manure handling with the Council prior to the stables being brought into use, however the development can now be undertaken in accordance with the approved plans.

If you have a similar proposal in mind, or require any planning or design advice, please contact your local Acorus office.
